§ 54-6. Provisions adopted; forfeiture.

  • (a)

    Statutory traffic laws and regulations adopted. The state statutory provisions prescribing and defining the proper handling, equipping and registration of motor vehicles, snowmobiles, and bicycles, and the proper conduct of pedestrians, as contained in Wis. Stats. chs. 340 through 348 and 350, and any existing or future amendments to Wis. Stats. chs. 340 through 348 and 350 are adopted by reference and made a part of this section to the full extent permitted by Wis. Stats. § 349.06. Any act required to be performed by any statute incorporated herein by reference is required by this chapter, and any act prohibited by any such statute is prohibited by this chapter. Citations issued for violations of this chapter shall conform to the uniform traffic citation provided for in Wis. Stats. § 345.11. Each section of the state statutes adopted by this chapter shall bear the same chapter and section number in this chapter as it has in the state statutes.

    (b)

    Forfeitures established for violations. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon a judicial determination thereof, forfeit an amount specified by the court within the limits established for the particular violation in the appropriate section of the state statutes, together with court costs, and suit tax if applicable, and a penalty assessment pursuant to Wis. Stats. § 345.47(1). That forfeiture shall include any variations or increases for a second offense together with the costs of prosecution imposed as provided in the state statutes.
