§ 2-237. Definitions.

(a)

Legal custodian means the individual responsible for maintaining records pursuant to Wis. Stats. § 19.33.

(b)

Major case means:

(1)

Open investigations.

(2)

Homicides (solved or unsolved).

(3)

Suicides.

(4)

Death investigations (discretionary).

(5)

Crimes against persons.

a.

Against adult or child causing substantial or great bodily harm.

b.

Abduction/kidnapping.

c.

Solicitation for murder.

d.

Armed robbery.

e.

First degree sexual assault (adult or child).

(6)

Crimes against property.

a.

Arson.

b.

Extortion.

c.

Burglary rings.

(c)

The sheriff or authorized record custodian may periodically review any of the above cases to assess their status as a "major case."

(d)

Record has the meaning defined in Wis. Stats. § 19.32(2).
