§ 2-112. Emergency procurement.

  • (a)

    Procedures. In the event of an emergency:

    (1)

    County departments may request an emergency procurement from the most practicable source, and shall promptly provide such requisition for any emergency procurement to the director, accompanied by written notice from the county department head, or the department head's designee, which explains the need for an emergency procurement.

    (2)

    If the director determines that an emergency procurement is necessary, the director shall issue a written confirming order to the vendor or vendors from whom commodities were obtained. If the director determines that an emergency procurement is not necessary, the county department shall not be authorized to complete the emergency procurement.

    (3)

    The director shall report any non-budgeted purchases greater than $5,000.00 made under this section 2-112 to the committee having jurisdiction over the purchase as soon as practicable after the purchase is completed.
